This exhibition forms part of an evolving project called“The Man With The Movie Camera”, and is inadvertently inspired by Dziga Vertovsʼ silent film of the same title. By questioning the complicity of documentation in provoking and politicising the gestures of performance, this series explores the handling and performative potential of the camera. To date, the works are a combination of books/ledgers and video-installations that aim to defer the “live-performance”.
